Tindora Fry with Powder
Learnt From: My Mom.
Time: 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
Dondakayalu / Tindora --- ¼ kg
Split Dalia Powder (Putnalu) --- 4 tblsn
Peanuts --- 2 tblsn
Salt --- to taste
Oil --- 5 tblsn
Note:
Split dalia (putnlu) powder is the one … which is prepared with split dalia, salt, red chilly powder, cumin seeds … and garlic (optional) (just grinding all of them to a fine powder.)
Process:
Clean dondakayalu. Cut the head and tail of them. Slit them and cut each part vertically into four parts. Keep the chopped dondakayalu to salted water.
Nip the chopped one in salted water. Keep them aside.
Heat a tsp of oil in a pan. Fry 2 tblsn of peanuts. Transfer the fried peanuts to another bowl. Keep them aside.
Heat 4 tblsn of oil in the same pan. Add chopped dondakayalu by draining salted water. Don’t cover it with a lid. Fry till ¾th done.
In the meanwhile, chop onions into slices. Add chopped onions to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium. Fry till onions done.
Add 4 tblsn of split dalia (putlnala) powder.
Add fried peanuts to the fry. Mix them well.
Have it with rice.
