French Beans Curry with Coconut

My mom used to prepare this curry.


French Beans

Green chilies

For Seasoning:

Oil --- 3 spoons
Urad dal
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Red chilly --- one tear it
Curry leaves


Pluck the head and tail of the beans and then pluck them to small pieces.

Clean the beans in a cooker.
Add water and salt to the pressure cooker.

Keep it for 3 whistles.
Wait till the pressure goes away.
Drain the water with the help of a colander.
In the mean while, grind green chilies, coconut and salt in a blender or mixer.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add and toast seasoning one by one like urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilly pieces and curry leaves.
Add green chilly coconut paste.
Fry it for a while.
Add beans to the pan.

Cook it till the water goes away.
Transfer the curry to a serving bowl.
