Bottle Gourd / Sorrakaya Curry with Milk


Ingredients:

Bottle guard --- 1
Onion --- 1/4 th of the big one
Green Chilies --- 3 (small)
Turmeric Powder --- a pinch
Milk --- 3/4 th cup

For Seasoning:

Oil --- 3 Table spoons
Urud dal --- 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds --- 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds --- 1/4 th tsp
Red Chilly --- 1/2
Curry Leaves --- 1 spring

Process:

Peel the bottle guard finely.
Cut the Head and Tail of bottle-guard.
Chop bottle-guard, onion and green chilies.
Wash some curry leaves too.
Heat 3 table spoons of oil in a deep pan
Add seasoning one by one
Add Curry leaves
Add chopped green chilies
Add Chopped onions.



Fry them till the onions turn into transparent color.


Add chopped bottle-guard pieces into it.
Add a pinch of turmeric powder.
Add salt per taste into the pan.


Stir them uniformly and cover it with lid so that the evaporated water touches the lid and falls into the pan.
Turn the heat to medium and cook. Stir occasionally.


Stir occasionally and check whether water should be added or not
If so sprinkle some water.
Cook until the bottle-guard pieces becomes tender.
Add a tsp of red chilly powder.


Mix well and Cook for a minute.
Add milk until all the pieces are dipped partially.


Cook for 5 minutes.
Turn the flame off.
Transfer the curry to a serving bowl.


Bottle-gourd curry is ready.
