Serving for: 2 people
Ingredients:
Sooji / Bombai Ravva --- ½ cup
Water --- 1 ¼ - 1 ½
Green Chilies --- 4
Ginger --- 2 inches
Salt --- as per taste
Note:
For 1 cup of Sooji ... 2 ½ to 3 cups of water. I prefer 3 cups of water.
Seasoning:
Oil --- 4 tblsn
Split Channa Dal --- 1 tblsn
Split Urad Dal --- 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds --- 1 tsp
Curry Leaves --- 5-6
Process:
Chop green chilies.
Chop ginger into small pieces.
Heat oil in a deep pan
Add and toast channa dal, urad dal, mustard seeds.
Add curry leaves.
Add chopped green chilies and ginger.
Fry them till the green chilies get white spots.
Add measured water and enough salt.
Taste the salt whether it is according to your requirement or not … else if adjust the salt.
Let the water boil… you can notice bubbles in the water… which is a sign that the water is boiled.
Add sooji slowly to the water and stir it with a ladle continuously so that the lumps will not form.
Stir continuously till the ravva comes together.
Turn the heat to sim … keep it for 2 minutes.
Turn off the heat… Cover it with lid… keep it for 2 minutes.
It is very simple to prepare.
Serve hot with Channa powder or lemon juice or coconut channa chutney.
