Time:
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Sitting Time: 1 hour
Serving for:
2 people. Can make out 5 parathas.
Ingredients:
Methi Leaves --- 1 bunch
Wheat Flour --- ¾ cup
Red chilly powder --- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder --- ¼ tsp
Ginger-Garlic paste --- ½ tsp
Garam Masala --- ¾ tsp
Salt --- as per taste
Sour Curd --- 2 tblsp
Oil --- 1 tblsp
Process:
Making Dough:
Pluck the methi leaves.
Wash the leaves.
Chop them to small pieces. Keep them aside.
In a bowl add wheat flour, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, enough salt, sour curd & chopped methi leaves.
Mix it well and make dough.
Add oil to the dough and knead it.
Cover the dough with a lid.
Let it sit for an hour.
Rolling:
Knead the dough once again.
Make 5 equal parts from it. Gently make balls and press them lightly with your palms.
Dip either side of them in wheat flour.
Roll them out to a thick sized poori on a rolling pad with the help of rolling pin.
Heating:
Heat griddle.
Keep the rolled paratha on the griddle.
Flip it over to reverse the paratha with spatula.
Add ½ tsp of oil on the paratha.
Let it move on the griddle with spatula. Don’t let it sit on griddle.
Add ½ tsp of oil on the other side too.
Flip it again to reverse the paratha.
Move the paratha on the griddle.
Transfer the paratha to a serving plate.
Methi Parathas are ready.
Have them with pickle and curd.
